Position Overview

The Automotive Service Porter plays a key role in supporting the service department by maintaining a clean, organized vehicle area and assisting technicians. This position involves cleaning vehicles, managing the service lot, and ensuring the dealership's appearance is always professional.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a neat and orderly service vehicle lot and move vehicles as needed.
• Clean service drive, write-up area, and shop environment regularly.
• Clean interiors and exteriors of vehicles, including trunks and glove compartments.
• Wash customer vehicles using appropriate cleaning products and equipment.
• Clean engines by removing grease and applying special cleaners when required.
• Assist technicians in keeping the service department clean and organized.
• Support dealership property maintenance and overall appearance.
• Greet customers courteously and professionally upon arrival.
• Complete all required training, including OSHA right-to-know training.
• Patrol the dealership grounds to ensure security and cleanliness.
• Operate shuttle vehicles and park cars from service areas safely.
• Empty trash receptacles frequently to maintain cleanliness.
• Wear company-approved uniform at all times.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a noisy environment.
• Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and handling tools.
• Capability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts and chemicals such as battery acid, gasoline, and cleaners.

• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong work ethic, well organized, and positive attitude.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• No prior retail experience required.
