Position Overview

LaFontaine Imports of Livonia is seeking a dedicated Automotive Sales Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will use your product knowledge and customer service skills to qualify buyers, demonstrate vehicles, close sales, and foster strong customer relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers and determine vehicle preferences and needs.
• Explain vehicle features and demonstrate operation in the showroom or during test drives.
• Recommend optional equipment based on customer preferences.
• Research model availability and equipment details.
• Collaborate with the Sales Manager to finalize pricing, including tax, trade-in values, licensing, discounts, and financing options.
• Prepare and process all sales and financing paperwork accurately.
• Deliver new vehicles to customers and ensure they understand features, warranties, and related documentation.
• Maintain a prospect development system to follow up with potential buyers.
• Stay informed about new products, vehicle features, and accessories.
• Participate actively in sales meetings and training sessions.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and goals.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions regularly.
• Occasional use of hands for handling or feeling; reaching; climbing; stooping; kneeling; crouching; or crawling.
• Frequent standing, talking, hearing, walking, and sitting.
• Possible exposure to exhaust fumes or airborne particles.
• Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 10 pounds.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, technical procedures, or relevant regulations.
• Strong written communication skills, including report and correspondence writing.
• Effective presentation and interpersonal skills to engage with managers, clients, and customers.
• Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
• Ability to accurately interpret written, oral, and scheduled instructions.
